description Fifty married female neurotics from outpatient clinic of G. M. & Associated Hospitals, Lucknow and their husbands were evaluated to investigate psychological disturbances in these husbands and to find out its relationship with the nature, severity and duration, of psychiatric illness in the wives. Personality characteristics and neurotic symptoms of the spouses were assessed on Eysenck Personality Inventory and Middlesex Hospital Questionnaire. 30 husbands were found to be sick but their illness does not seem to be related with the duration of marriage, severity and nature of wives’ illness. Higher interspouse correlation on N-Scale of EPI was observed with increasing duration of illness in wives.
