Sumario:In the title compound [systematic name: 3,3′-dimethoxy-2,2′-(ethane-1,2-diyldioxy)dibenzaldehyde], C(18)H(18)O(6), prepared from 1,2-dibromo­ethane and ortho-vanillin in the presence of sodium carbonate, the two vanillin units are linked via a CH(2)–CH(2) bridge. The two benzene rings are inclined at a dihedral angle of 41.6 (5)°.
