Cardiac glycosides are potent inhibitors of interferon-β gene expression
We report that bufalin and other cardiac glycoside inhibitors of the sodium-potassium ATPase (sodium pump) potently inhibit the induction of the interferon-β (IFNβ) gene by virus, dsRNA or dsDNA.
