The cation has an MnN(2)O(4) octa­hedral environment, being coordinated by the O atoms of two water mol­ecules and two monodentate (4-tolyl­sulfan­yl)acetate anions, and by two N atoms of two 4,4′-bipyridine ligands. The latter bridge adjacent cations into linear chains parallel to [010]. The chains are further linked with each other into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100) via inter­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
