In the title complex, [Cu(CH(3)CO(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](CH(3)CO(2))·7H(2)O, the central Cu(II) ion is five coordinate, being bound to four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and one O atom from an acetate anion in a strongly distorted square-pyramidal configuration.
