In the title compound, C(16)H(10)ClF(3)O(3), the two benzene rings are slightly twisted from each other, with a dihedral angle of 15.50 (8)° between the planes. In the crystal, intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a layer parallel to the bc plane.
