Sumario: | Pericardial effusion is frequently found in patients with hypothyroidism, but it is rarely associated with cardiac tamponade. Hypothyroidism complicated by cardiac tamponade is rarely referenced in the medical literature. Treatment included an emergency pericardiocentesis followed by thyroxine hormone replacement. |
