2-Cyano-N′-(5-hydroxy-2-nitrobenzylidene)acetohydrazide monohydrate

The title compound, C(10)H(8)N(4)O(4)·H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of 5-hydroxy-2-nitrobenzaldehyde with cyanoacetohydrazide in methanol. The non-H atoms of the hydrazone molecule are approximately coplanar, with a mean deviation from the least-squares plane of 0.056 Å. In the crystal, mol...

Sumario:The title compound, C(10)H(8)N(4)O(4)·H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of 5-hydroxy-2-nitrobenzaldehyde with cyanoacetohydrazide in methanol. The non-H atoms of the hydrazone molecule are approximately coplanar, with a mean deviation from the least-squares plane of 0.056 Å. In the crystal, molecules are linked by N—H⋯O, O—H⋯N and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.
