The title compound, C(16)H(20)NO(4)P, crystallizes as a zwitterion. In the molecule, the two aromatic rings form a dihedral angle of 55.2 (1)°. In the crystal, intermolecular N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into columns propagating in [010].
