trans-Diiodidobis(2-phenylpyridine-κN)palladium(II)
In the title complex, [PdI(2)(C(11)H(9)N)(2)], the Pd(II) ion has a distorted trans-I(2)N(2) square-planar coordination geometry defined by two N atoms from two 2-phenylpyridine ligands and two I(−) anions. The 2-phenylpyridine ligands are not planar, the dihedral angles between the pyridine and b...

Sumario: | In the title complex, [PdI(2)(C(11)H(9)N)(2)], the Pd(II) ion has a distorted trans-I(2)N(2) square-planar coordination geometry defined by two N atoms from two 2-phenylpyridine ligands and two I(−) anions. The 2-phenylpyridine ligands are not planar, the dihedral angles between the pyridine and benzene rings being 50.1 (2) and 45.7 (2)°. An intermolecular π–π interaction between the six-membered rings is present, the ring centroid–centroid distance being 3.898 (4) Å. |
