Sumario:The tribal community known as Kaani dwelling in the Papanasam forests of Tamilnadu attribute a variety of medicinal properties to a shrub called Kuravankanamooli. It is practically employed as an universal remedy in their life. The name Kuravankandamooli and the medicinal virtues atrributed to the plant are found to be new to the records of medicinal plants of Tamilnadu. This contribution presents information on the Botanical identity and the folklore medicinal claims of the plant.
