Sumario:The roots of Rumex nepalensis spreng (Family-Polygonaceae) were studied to fix the parameters for Pharmcognostical standards. The present investigation deals with the macrocopical characters of root as well as studies on some physical constants, behavior of powdered root on treatment with different chemical reagents and fluorescence characteristics on exposure to ultra –violet light. These studies would be of great help for proper identification of the root of the plant.
