description | In the title complex, [Pt(NCS)(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))], the Pt(II) ion is four-coordinated in a distorted square-planar environment by the two pyridine N atoms of the chelating di-2-pyridylamine (dpa) ligand and two mutually cis S atoms from two linear thiocyanate anions. The dpa ligand is not planar, the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings being 30.8 (4)°. In the crystal, the complex molecules are stacked in columns along the a axis and are connected by intermolecular N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming supramolecular chains along the b axis. |
