In the title compound, C(15)H(22)N(2)O, the octyl group adopts an all-trans conformation. In the crystal, molecules form centrosymmetric dimers with an R (2) (2)(8) graph-set motif, linked by pairs of N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In addition, C—H⋯O contacts are observed.
