8-Hydroxy-2-methylquinolinium tetrachlorido(quinolin-8-olato-κ(2) N,O)stannate(IV)

The reaction of 8-hydroxyquinoline, 2-methylquinolin-8-ol and stannic chloride yields the protonated 8-hydroxy-2-methylquinolinium species. In the title salt, (C(10)H(10)NO)[Sn(C(9)H(6)NO)Cl(4)], the Sn(IV) cation is N,O-chelated by the quinolin-8-olate anion and is further coordinated by four...

Sumario:The reaction of 8-hydroxyquinoline, 2-methylquinolin-8-ol and stannic chloride yields the protonated 8-hydroxy-2-methylquinolinium species. In the title salt, (C(10)H(10)NO)[Sn(C(9)H(6)NO)Cl(4)], the Sn(IV) cation is N,O-chelated by the quinolin-8-olate anion and is further coordinated by four Cl(−) anions in a distorted cis-SnNOCl(4) octahedral geometry. In the crystal, the cation is linked to the anion by an O—H⋯O hydrogen bond.
