In the title compound, C(8)H(5)Cl(3)N(2)O(3), the dihedral angle between the nitrophenyl ring and the acetamide group is 5.47 (6)°. In the crystal, N—H⋯O and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into chains running parallel to the b axis.
