In the title compound, C(9)H(8)O(3), the molecular skeleton is almost planar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.016 (2) Å]. Weak intermolecular C—H⋯O and C—H⋯π interactions consolidate the crystal packing, with the molecules stacking in the [101] direction.
