Sumario:Frailty represents a growing challenge to modern health-care systems. This paper reports on a conference on frailty held in Athens in January 2012. Papers from 11 groups, including those of the authors, were presented and discussed over two days. Several approaches to frailty and its operationalization (including biomarkers) and to social vulnerability were discussed. The search programs that incorporate multiple measures and allows them to be tested were encouraged.
