Benzyltriphenylphosphonium dichloridotriphenylstannate(IV)
The crystal structure of the title salt, (C(25)H(22)P)[Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)Cl(2)] or (PhCH(2)PPh(3))[SnPh(3)Cl(2)], consists of [PhCH(2)PPh(3)](+) cations and [SnPh(3)Cl(2)](−) anions in which the Sn(IV) atom is linked to two Cl atoms and three phenyl groups in a trigonal–bipyramidal geometry, with the C...

Sumario: | The crystal structure of the title salt, (C(25)H(22)P)[Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)Cl(2)] or (PhCH(2)PPh(3))[SnPh(3)Cl(2)], consists of [PhCH(2)PPh(3)](+) cations and [SnPh(3)Cl(2)](−) anions in which the Sn(IV) atom is linked to two Cl atoms and three phenyl groups in a trigonal–bipyramidal geometry, with the Cl atoms in trans positions. The cation adopts a tetrahedral geometry. In the crystal, the cations and the anions are connected by C—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, leading to an infinite chain propagating along the c direction. |
