Dimethyl 2-(4-methyl­benzyl­idene)malonate

In the mol­ecule of the title compound, C(13)H(14)O(4), the benzene ring forms dihedral angles of 18.60 (7) and 81.36 (8)° with the two arms of the malonate moiety. The crystal structure features C—H⋯O inter­actions, which form chains running parallel to the b axis.
