Sumario:Mature cystic teratomas of the ovary (MCT) are usually observed in women of reproductive age with the most dreadful complication being malignant transformation which occurs in approximately 1% to 3% of MCTs. In this case report, we present a patient with squamous cell carcinoma which developed from a MCT during pregnancy. The patient was treated conservatively without adjuvant chemotherapy and was followed without evidence of disease for more than 60 months using conventional tools as well as positron emission tomography-computed tomography following the initial surgery. We report this case along with the review of literature.
