Formation of Alumina Nanocapsules by High-Energy-Electron Irradiation of Na-dawsonite Nanorods
We report the synthesis of unique Al(2)O(3) nanocapsules by high-energy-electron irradiation of Na-dawsonite and a formation mechanism different from thermal decomposition which usually produces NaAlO(2). The novel decomposition process may open up a shortcut for fabricating hollow nanostructures.
