Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Contributes to Helicobacter Pylori VacA-Induced Apoptosis

Vacuolating cytotoxin A (VacA) is one of the important virulence factors produced by H. pylori. VacA induces apoptotic cell death, which is potentiated by ammonia.
