10B. Integrative Management of Rheumatoid Arthritis: Where the Rubber Meets the Road

Focus Areas: Integrative Approaches to Care, Alleviating Pain Integrative management of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) will familiarize the attendee with the epidemiology, recent advances in understanding of the pathophysiology of RA, diagnosis, and conventional and integrative therapeutics for treating inflammation. The goal is to provide the clinician with a framework to approach disease management for patients with RA within a rigorous evidence-based program. Knowledge of integrative approaches to treating inflammation is not limited to patients with RA but can reasonably be applied to other chronic diseases of excess cytokine release such as heart disease and cancer.
