The title salt, C(9)H(11)N(2) (+)·NO(3) (−), features a planar cation (r.m.s. for 11 non-H atoms = 0.016 Å). In the crystal, N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link nitrate and benzimidazole ions into a three-dimensional network.
