N-(2-Nitrophenyl)thiophene-2-carboxamide

The title compound, C(11)H(8)N(2)O(3)S, shows two molecules per asymmetric unit, with the dihedral angles between the benzene and thiophene rings of 13.53 (6) and 8.50 (5)° being a notable difference between them. An intramolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen-bond in each molecule generates an S(6) ring moti...

description The title compound, C(11)H(8)N(2)O(3)S, shows two molecules per asymmetric unit, with the dihedral angles between the benzene and thiophene rings of 13.53 (6) and 8.50 (5)° being a notable difference between them. An intramolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen-bond in each molecule generates an S(6) ring motif. The crystal packing shows no classical hydrogen bonds with the molecules being packed to form weak C—H⋯O and C—H⋯S interactions leading to R (2) (2)(9) and R (4) (4)(25) rings which are edge-shared, giving layers parallel to (010).
