description | Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the retention of different pit and fissure sealants on the first permanent molars over a period of one year. Materials and methods: In this study, a total of 40 children with all first permanent molars erupted received four different pit and fissure sealants. The children were evaluated at 6 and 12 months. Results: The data was subjected to Chi-square test and Kaplan Meier survival analysis. The p-value was calculated using Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed-rank test. Conclusion: The retention rates of resin-based sealants were superior to that of glass ionomer sealant. How to cite this article: Kumaran P.
