description The current Administration supports competition as one method of helping to contain escalating costs. Proponents of competition claim many advantages to its implementation, but their claims have yet to be widely tested. Much of these data are applicable to the competitive plans being considered by the Administration and Congress. This paper discusses recent findings from these projects.
