description This is a rare case of new onset Kaposi sarcoma in a man infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and receiving antiretroviral treatment since primary HIV infection, with normal CD4(+) cell count and suppressed viral load. The presentation questions the general understanding of Kaposi sarcoma as an acquired immune deficiency syndrome-defining disease occurring predominantly in severely immunocompromised patients infected with HIV.
