Sumario:In the title compound, [Ni(C(13)H(17)NO(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·5H(2)O, the Ni(II) atom is in a distorted octa­hedral coordination environment provided by the two N atoms of one bidentate phenanthroline ligand and two O atoms and one N atom from a tridentate 2-[(2-hy­droxy­benz­yl)amino]-4-methyl­penta­noic acid (HAMA) ligand and one water mol­ecule. The complex was prepared by the reaction of nickel(II) nitrate with HAMA in the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline in a 1:1:1 ratio. In the crystal, the complex mol­ecules and solvate water mol­ecules are associated via O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.
