It was compared with a closely related species, Bolanthus minuartioides (Jaub. & Spach) Hub.-Mor., Bolanthus huber-morathii C.Simon, Bolanthus spergulifolius (Jaub. & Spach) Hub.-Mor., Bolanthus frankenioides (Boiss) Bark., Bolanthus mevlanae Aytaç based on its general morphology and seed micromorphology.
