Sumario:The title compound, [Cu(C(4)F(7)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], is mononuclear and contains a pentacoordinated Cu(II) ion. The geometry of Cu(II) ion can be described as distorted square-pyramidal with two O atoms of two butanoate anions and two N atoms of the o-phenanthroline ligand occupying the basal plane, and a water O atom located at the axial position. In the crystal, C—H⋯(O,F) and O—H⋯(O,F) hydrogen bonds and π–π interactions [centroid-to-centroid distance 3.533 (2) Å] link the molecules into a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.
