Identification to the species level was performed by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Treatment with fluconazole was successful. CONCLUSION: This case confirms the pathogenic role of C. pulcherrima and the contribution of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry for identification of rare Candida species.
