Sequential substitution of K(+) bound to Na(+),K(+)-ATPase visualized by X-ray crystallography
Na(+),K(+)-ATPase transfers three Na(+) from the cytoplasm into the extracellular medium and two K(+) in the opposite direction per ATP hydrolysed.
