description Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT) is an uncommon tumor of odontogenic origin and often misdiagnosed as an odontogenic cyst. It is predominantly found in young female patients, located more often in maxilla, and in most cases associated with an unerupted permanent tooth. There are three variants of AOT namely follicular, extra follicular, and peripheral. We report an unusual case of extrafollicular AOT in maxilla of a 50-year old male patient.
