Crystal structure of (2,2′-bipyridine-κ(2) N,N′)bis(3,5-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinonato-κ(2) O,O′)ruthenium(II)

In the title mononuclear complex, [Ru(C(14)H(20)O(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))], the Ru(II) ion has a distorted octahedral coordination environment defined by two N atoms of the chelating 2,2′-bipyridine ligand and four O atoms from two 3,5-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone ligands. In the crystal, the compl...

Sumario:In the title mononuclear complex, [Ru(C(14)H(20)O(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))], the Ru(II) ion has a distorted octahedral coordination environment defined by two N atoms of the chelating 2,2′-bipyridine ligand and four O atoms from two 3,5-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone ligands. In the crystal, the complex molecules are linked by intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking interactions between the 2,2′-bipyridine ligands [centroid–centroid distance = 3.538 (3) Å], resulting in a layer structure extending parallel to the ab plane.
