We report, herewith, a case of rapidly progressive postoperative endophthalmitis after pars plana vitrectomy which ended up with enucleation. The isolated microorganism was Proteus vulgaris which has not been reported as causative bacteria of postoperative infections following pars plana vitrectomy.
