description | Systemic therapy for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma is typically reserved for rare cases of metastatic disease or lesions which cannot be adequately managed with local therapies. The relevant published literature is comprised only of case series and reports. Herein the authors present two cases of neglected locally advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma not initially amenable to local therapies, which achieved dramatic partial responses to palliative Cisplatin and Docetaxel, facilitating sequential palliative radiotherapy. These reports add to the limited literature supporting the use of platinum-based therapy in locally advanced and metastatic cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. They are the first describing the use of Cisplatin and Docetaxel in this setting. |
