Sumario:Abstract. The second species of the genus Asprothrips with a bicoloured body, A. atermaculosus sp. n., is described and illustrated from China. This is characterised by considerable intra-population variation in the number and size of brown markings on the abdominal tergites. Asprothrips fuscipennis Kudô, previously described from Japan, is newly recorded in China.
