Abstract. Wecomedon Jarrett & Bousfield, 1982 is reintroduced as a replacement name for Psammonyx Bousfield, 1973 (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Tryphosidae) which is a junior homonym of Psammonyx Döderlein, 1892 (Foraminifera: Astrorhizida: Ammovolummidae).
