Sumario:This is the case of a 28-year-old female who presented with a complaint of dysphagia and was diagnosed with the rare disease of esophageal granular cell tumor (GCT) after esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). The case acknowledges the wisdom of maintaining a broad differential for a common complaint. It also serves to reiterate the clinical and pathologic criteria for the diagnosis of a granular cell tumor of the esophagus.
