Hg(II) binds to C–T mismatches with high affinity
Binding reactions of Hg(II) and Ag(I) to pyrimidine-pyrimidine mismatches in duplex DNA were characterized using fluorescent nucleobase analogs, thermal denaturation and (1)H NMR.
