Sumario: | Peyronie’s disease is often associated with loss of penile length and many men often complain of erectile dysfunction. Scientific advances in prosthesis design, device technologies and surgical techniques over the years have made penile prosthesis implant a more natural, durable and reliable device. Concurrent penile prosthesis implant with penile reconstructive surgery allows for penile length (and girth) restoration while at the same time, addresses underlying erectile issue in men with complex penile deformity and erection dysfunction. There is a need to centralize complex penile prosthesis implant surgery in expert hands to optimize surgical outcomes. Strict patient selection and counseling, judicious use of anti-microbial prophylaxis, and advanced surgical skills are paramount to ensure excellent outcome in this group of men. |
