Sumario:Metabolic surgery is an effective treatment option for obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Frequent relapses and significantly decreased remission rates have been started after 10 and 15 years in surgically treated patients. Further concern should be warranted on predictors related to gastrointestinal hormones and metabolic profile of long‐term remission and relapse of T2DM following metabolic surgery in obese patients.
