Sumario:Macropinocytosis or “cell drinking” involves the elaboration of membrane ruffles that enclose and internalize extracellular fluids. Using lattice light sheet microscopy, Condon et al. (2018. J. Cell Biol. https://doi.org/10.1083/jcb.201804137) reveal the presence of parallel membrane protrusions termed “tent poles” that flank and direct membrane ruffle formation.
