Sumario:Multipotent mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) represent a great candidate for various clinical applications including regenerative medicine. However, aging both in vivo and in vitro can significantly compromise MSC characteristics and performance. This paper highlights current thoughts on senescence-induced damage to MSCs that should be considered prior to their use for regeneration of different cells, tissues or organs.
