Sumario: | Secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS) is characterized by progressive accumulation of disability without intermittent recovery. Treatment of these patients is challenging due to limited understanding of pathogenesis and fewer therapeutic options. This article summarizes difficulties in defining and conducting trials in SPMS, review major clinical trials on therapies approved and unapproved in SPMS and lastly, therapies in pipeline for use in SPMS. |
