Effect of proton pump inhibitors on mortality of cirrhotic patients with pneumonia

OBJECTIVE: Pneumonia is life-threatening in patients with liver cirrhosis. Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) may increase the risk of these patients developing pneumonia.
