description Abstract. Acanthomyrmex Emery, 1893 is a small myrmicine genus of the tribe Crematogastrini. Seventeen species of the genus have been recorded from Southeast Asia. Acanthomyrmexmalikuli was collected from hard dead wood on forest floor, while A.mizunoi nested in soil.
