Antibiotic Resistance: Hydrogen‐Peroxide‐Generating Electrochemical Scaffold Eradicates Methicillin‐Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Biofilms (Global Challenges 6/2019)

In article number 1800101, Robin Patel, Haluk Beyenal, and co‐workers report the application of a novel electrochemical scaffold (e‐scaffold) as a strategy for treating methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) biofilms. Sumario:In article number 1800101, Robin Patel, Haluk Beyenal, and co‐workers report the application of a novel electrochemical scaffold (e‐scaffold) as a strategy for treating methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) biofilms. The e‐scaffold, which continuously produces low concentrations of H(2)O(2), eradicates biofilms grown in vitro. Their study also explores potential mechanisms of action of the e‐scaffold against MRSA biofilms. [Image: see text]
